F30 BIMMERCODE: LEGAL DISCLAIMER SEAT BELT REMINDER

On the F series, we can code off the legal disclaimer that pops up when you first start your car. We can also turn off the seat belt reminder chimes, if you are just moving the car around the lot for example. Obviously don’t drive without your seatbelt on, that is dumb.

We will be using the application called Bimmercode to code this feature out, you can download the app for IOS or ANDROID. Check if your car is compatible HERE.

Bimmercode’s website suggests using the Veepeak Bluetooth Adapter, in order to connect your phone to the car via bluetooth.

You can use Code: YTBDST15 at checkout to receive 15% off of your purchase.

Let’s jump into the coding process!

Open bimmercode, plug your Veepeak Adapter into the OBD2 port (located near your left foot in the driver’s side footwell)

Select your adapter: Veepeak OBDCheck BLE, then select your vehicle (In my case, BMW 3 Series, F30)

First we will remove the legal disclaimer, head into Headunit. Locate Legal Disclaimers. Select Not Active. Then hit code in the top right.

Next we will code out the seatbelt reminders. Up top you should see Advanced Crash Safety Module, jump into there. You will want to code a few things out here. All of the seat belt reminders and all of the seat belt indicators. This will remove the annoying tone the car makes when the seat belt is off as well as the indicator lights that flash when the seat belt is off. Once all are Not Active, go a head and code!
