If you are running a tune, it is wise to upgrade your spark plugs. I recently upgraded to NGK 97506 spark plugs gapped at .023 and the car is running incredibly well. These made a huge difference for me. The NGK 97506 plugs are recommended by pro tuning freaks if you are running Bootmod3.
You can buy these plugs HERE.

First Step, lets gap the plugs. For my M2, N55 I am running bootmod3 stage 2. Pro Tuning Freaks recommends a .022-.023 gap while running this setup. I have gapped mine to .023. Make sure your gap is perfect. The gapping tool should slide into the plug snug, if there is room..the gap is tool large you need to reduce it. If it is too tight, you need to increase it.
Start by removing the two plastic covers on each side of the engine bay nearest the windshield. There are 3 10mm nuts on each side, these do not come off. You only need to turn them 1/4 counter clockwise to unlatch them. The plastic cover then releases from the front cowl. You can also remove the engine cover, this simply pops right off with a little bit of force.
Remove the foam liner near the back of the engine, it is easy to rip this so be careful.
Next we need to remove the two circular rubber covers that are dead center on the cowl. These are covering two E18’s that we need to remove. In order to access the two rear ignition coils we need to remove the strut brace. On my M2 it is one piece, on the F30 335 it is two pieces. Both are held down by 4 E18’s. Remove the plastic circles, then remove all 4 E18s and remove the brace.
Now we will remove plastic piece that is also covering the back of the engine. The left side is held down by 3 10mm bolts while the right is held down by 4 10mm bolts. Remove it and slide the plastic piece to the side of the engine bay.
Next you will see a bracket on the rear left side of the engine, this is holding your oxygen sensors in place. Both sensors unclip from the bracket, the bracket is held on by one T30. Remove them all, set the bracket aside giving us clear access to all ignition coils.
Now we will remove the first ignition coil in the back. The top of the coil has a lever that lifts up, this will release the plug inside. Unplug the coil, then use a socket extension, run it through the hole in the top of the ignition coil latch. Pull up releasing the ignition coil and set it aside.
Now we can go ahead and remove the first spark plug. Take your 14mm spark plug socket, break free the spark plug and remove the plug.
Take your new spark plug, we will be torquing this down at 23NM or 16.96 FT LBs of torque.
Reinstall the ignition coil, it only seats properly one way. Plug the ignition coil connection back in, make sure the latch is all of the way down.
Alright, now repeat this process for the other 5 spark plugs and reassemble everything. You are finished!
